Under the general supervision of the Product Development Manager, this position is accountable for the on-time completion of new product development and ongoing product improvement projects. Plays an active role in product development plans, and organizes and executes product innovations to support overall company growth and profitability objectives.
- Responsible for the design, development, and execution of new products as assigned by the Regional Marketing Director for core and private label lines to include.
- Select the aesthetics, according to the trends of each country, for the new products
- Communicating with factories the product specifications of a proposed new product.
- Monitoring, tracking, and organizing all approved proposed new product samples.
- Approve all Pre-production samples.
- Identifies trends, and selects styles, fabrics, colors, prints, and trims for the new collections.
- Together with the regional marketing teams, researches and monitors existing product offerings and industry developments and identifies potential new product opportunities. Works with other departments to establish a design, technology, product development, and vendor strategy.
- Prepare product specifications for doing BOM & Costing while updating and maintaining it.
- Work to ensure product specifications are accurate and up-to-date then communicate to procurement, quality department, marketing, and sales.
- Inspire a high-performing and innovative product development environment.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the VP of Product Development.
- Prepare reports upon request.
